Pronounced: Rev - Jā - Lō

REVJLO is a group of people that believes in respecting our planet and all people, regardless of creed, religion, sexuality, and socio-economic status.

Mission

REVJLO is a 501(c)(3) organization that originated to:

* Improve the quality of life in the Rio Grande Valley Community by providing humanitarian, educational, and volunteer services focused on removing obstacles to opportunity.

* Promote the tolerance of all individuals, regardless of age, faith, race, sexuality, or socio-economic status.

* Promote the humane and ethical treatment of animals.

We accomplish our goals by partnering with a diverse group of people that can set a great example for others by working together. By helping others take the time to appreciate diversity, we hope to create an environment where petty differences are overcome. We believe that humanity can and will take over when people share common goals.

What is that name again?

REVJLO is pronounced rev - jā - lō. The name is somewhat odd, but we love getting asked about it! The REVJLO name was chosen by the current Vice President, Andy Longoria. REVJLO President Juan Longoria was ordained online by the Universal Life Church in early 2011. Being cousins, Andy created the nickname Rev. J-Lo for the new Rev. Juan Longoria. The jest quickly turned into a volunteer effort by the two cousins. As they became more involved, they realized there were many other causes they wanted to help out with, but there weren't any organizations that were actively pursuing the causes they were interested in. Juan decided to create a 501(c)3 organization and there was only one name that he and Andy could find appropriate..."REVJLO".

o Charity for Charities

Our team is committed to the success of the Rio Grande Valley's committed charities. We will be sharing our resources with our non profit peers as often as we are able to. We will create a list of local non profit and volunteer organizations that are willing to plan an event, with our aid, if selected. This list will be composed of organizations we have partnered with before or new organizations that contact us by emailing team@revjlo.com. Once we have our list, we will take a vote within our team and the organization with the most votes will receive a financial donation along with a group of volunteers aimed at promoting their cause within that month.

Disaster Relief

We also try to provide relief to areas and families hit by natural disasters and tragedy. While our primary focus will always be on the Rio Grande Valley, we have taken trips to other areas of the state and country when needed. We try our best to be global citizens.

We NEED YOUR HELP

We're Local!

While the REVJLO team has had the honor of working overseas and in other countries, our primary focus remains right here, in the Rio Grande Valley. We are from the Valley and for the Valley!

We're Innovative!

We aren't your typical non-profit. Our charity is looking to incorporate a little bit of you into what we do. The best projects emerge from diversity...we're big fans of it!

We're Dedicated!

Every member of REVJLO has a full time job elsewhere. None of us get any sort of salary or compensation from the donations we receive. We do this to help our fellow man and make some great new friends while doing it!
